Victory for Club de Golf Métropolitain Anjou against the City of Montreal

The Quebec Court of Appeal recently issued its ruling in the case of Club de Golf Métropolitain Anjou, recognizing the substantially complete and compliant nature of the 12 building permit applications filed by the property owners before the zoning modification imposed by the City of Montreal.

Located in the Anjou borough, Club de Golf Métropolitain Anjou covers a significant area and has attracted the attention of both public and private stakeholders for several years. The decision reaffirms the principles applicable to mandamus and substantially complete and compliant permit applications, and strengthens the foundations of a promising project for the metropolis.

De Grandpré Chait’s municipal law team — composed in this matter of Jonathan M. Fecteau, Jean-Daniel Lamy, Marc Beauchemin and Marie-Pier Leroux — is proud to have represented the owners of Club de Golf Métropolitain Anjou in this litigation against the City.
