LEADER GROUP, an international company specializing in the design and manufacture of technical firefighting and rescue equipment, has recently completed the acquisition of Mercedes Textiles, a Québec-based company renowned for manufacturing fire hoses, couplings, and portable pumps for the municipal, forestry, military, and industrial sectors.
This acquisition marks an important milestone in the French group’s international growth strategy, strengthening its presence in North America while further expanding its expertise in firefighting equipment, particularly in the area of wildfire suppression.
Our Involvement
As part of this acquisition, De Grandpré Chait advised LEADER GROUP on the Canadian legal aspects of the transaction, including:
- Conducting the legal due diligence review of Mercedes Textiles;
- Assisting with the negotiation and drafting of the transaction documents;
- Advising the client on the corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters related to the acquisition;
- Coordinating the various legal steps leading to the successful closing of the transaction.
