Marie Laure Leclercq sworn in at the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse

Montréal, December 17, 2018 – De Grandpré Chait is proud to announce the swearing in of Marie Laure Leclercq as a Member of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse, on December 11th. With her exceptional career, this transgender lawyer, who is an active and volunteer activist for the advancement of LGBTQ2+ rights, perfectly complements the diversity and expertise of the Commission’s members, as Philippe-André Tessier, Acting President of the Commission, points out.

Ms. Leclercq’s commitment to the LGBTQ2+ cause includes conferences on diversity at the workplace with private firms and law schools, as well as at international events such as the Global Workplace Summit in London in 2012. She had also been appointed Governor of Fondation Émergence in 2017.

“I am very happy with this oath and not at all surprised by it. Ms. Leclercq is a dedicated lawyer who is fully involved in her community and no one else could better defend its interests than her. I would like to congratulate my colleague on this appointment, an honour that rewards her loyalty and constant philanthropic efforts,” said Eric Lalanne, the firm’s Chairman of the Board.
