Blue line extension: Five stations and many expropriations

Montréal, April 12, 2018 – While the official announcement of the Montreal metro’s Blue line extension was held last Monday, expropriation notices will soon, for their part, be served to owners of lands and buildings located in the axis of this new development. The ministère des Transports, de la Mobilité durable et de l’Électrification des transports intends to request an expropriation decree to serve expropriation notices in the near future. Even though construction work won’t start before 2021, owners, tenants and occupants of an expropriated property should act cautiously in order to assert their rights. The expropriated party shall have 15 days after the date of the notice of expropriation to appear before the Tribunal and declare in writing to the expropriating party the name and address of all tenants of the expropriated property.

Don’t miss the metro and consult a professional to make sure you are compensated to the full value of your property and the damages caused by the expropriation.

To learn more about the project, see the official press release (in French only).
