The Montreal City Council has recently approved the transformation of Place Versailles, marking the launch of one of the most significant urban redevelopment projects the city has seen in recent years.
Located in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, the iconic shopping centre will give way to a brand-new neighbourhood valued at $2.2 billion. The project will include the development of over 5,000 housing units, commercial and office spaces, green areas, and a school, distributed across multiple towers of approximately 20 storeys each.
The municipal law team at De Grandpré Chait, led on this project by Me Marc Beauchemin and supported by Me Jean-Daniel Lamy, is proud to have assisted Place Versailles Inc. in this project. Congratulations to all the other members of the multidisciplinary team behind this important urban planning achievement, namely Kevin Robinson, Josée Bérubé, and Pierre-Jean Blumberger (Provencher Roy), as well as Alexia Lapierre and Olivier Laurent Cazaban (BC2).
